Tenant Advocacy Project (T.A.P.) - Free Legal Aid
The Tenant Advocacy Project provides attorneys and tenant navigators in all nine township small claims courts in Marion County, covering the majority of eviction days. Attorneys provide legal advice to tenants with eviction hearings. Tenant navigators guide tenants through the court process—where to go, how to check in, and how to access legal aid. When possible, the navigation team also offers follow-up support after the initial hearing.
This is a project of the City of Indianapolis Office of Public Health and Safety that has provided legal aid and tenant navigation support since 2021.
